Iwa Plum Modern Silk Necktie

$98.00

FREE U.S. SHIPPING on all orders over $30

The 'Iwa bird is the largest bird in Hawaii.  'Iwa in Hawaiian means thief, because instead of doing its own hunting, the 'Iwa will steal the fish from the mouths of smaller birds.  'Iwa birds are able to fly for long distances (even for days!) without resting on land.  Large populations of 'Iwa birds can be found on the north shore of Kaua'i.

"He 'iwa ho'ohaehae nāulu" means "An 'iwa that teases the rain clouds."  This can refer to a smartly dressed person whose look inspires envy.
