Naupaka kahakai grows all along the beautiful shores of Hawaii. In legend, it is said that two devoted lovers came to the attention of the Goddess Pele. Pele desired the man and appeared before him as a beautiful stranger. But no matter what Pele did, the lovers could not be shaken.  Angry, Pele chased the man into the mountains, throwing molten lava towards him. Pele's sisters saw this and saved the man from death by changing him into the mountain Naupaka plant. Pele immediately went after the woman and chased her towards the ocean, but again Pele's sisters intervened and changed the woman into the beach Naupaka plant. Legend says that if mountain Naupaka and beach Naupaka flowers are reunited, the two lovers will be together again.

This scarf has a soft feel with a cooling touch.  The oblong shape allows for short wraps as well as classic knots, drapes, weaves, and loops.
